Disneyland is our preferred Disney destination. We enjoys Disneyland's two parks, compared to Walt Disney World's four in Orlando.
Here are our recommendations from 2014 – we need to update based on our 2022 trip!
French Market in New Orleans Square
Really good meatloaf and creole food, along with jambalaya.
The Little Red Wagon on Main Street
The place to get corn dogs at Disneyland. (There is Corn Dog Castle in California Adventure, near the Little Mermaid ride, that also sells corn dogs.)
Dole Whip
The stand is near the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland. Yum!
The River Belle Terrace
Between Adventureland and Frontierland, this quick-service place offers freshly slices roast beef and turkey sandwiches.
Café Orleans in New Orleans Square
Sit-down restaurant where Matthew and mom ate last time. New Orleans style food. Reservation recommended.
Blue Bayou
Sit-down restaurant in New Orleans Square, sitting along the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, in the same vein as the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot.
Churros!!
Rancho del Zocalo
Quick-service Mexican restaurant in Frontierland with tasty food.
Bengal barbecue
In Adventureland, we ate a really good meat skewer for snack with different sauces.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Indiana Jones Adventure
This is fantastic, and it's unique to Disneyland.
Same as Dinosaur layout at Animal Kingdom in Orlando
Mickey and the Magical Map show
it's a small world
Monorail
Nice to circle the park.
Railroad
Also nice to circle the park.
Space Mountain
Daytime Parade, Mickey's Soundsational
Nighttime fireworks around the castle
Matterhorn: Too bumpy.
Flo's Diner in Carsland
Everything is tasty, especially the milkshakes. They have pies, but they aren't that great. Have dessert elsewhere.
Paradise Garden Grill
Generous portion of skewered meat with rice, pita bread and cucumber salad. We got chicken, which was delicious. Get all three sauces on the side and try them all. Yum!!
Cocina Cucamonga
In the Pacific Wharf area, this quick-service offered delicious Mexican food. The tacos are fantastic!
Clarabelle's Hand-scooped ice cream
At the end of Buena Vista street, this tasty place is known for its hand-dipped ice cream bars. The sundaes always look good, but never had them.
Corn Dog Castle
Near the Little Mermaid ride, this place sells corn dogs!
Ghiradelli Soda Fountain
In the Pacific Wharf area, this is new since mom has been there. It's across from the bread company. They give out free chocolate samples and have an assortment of ice cream dessert and confections.
World of Color!!!
Nighttime show around Paradise lagoon. It's like the Bellagio fountain but in color and better.
Soarin'
Radiator Springs Racers
In Carsland, this is one of the best rides of both parks.
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Not as good as Matthew's Tower in Orlando, but still enjoyable.
The Inside of the Animation Building has some really neat features and projection screens.
Toy Story Midway Mania
This interactive video game is in 3-D and is a lot of fun.
Monsters Inc. ride
Mike and Sulley's adventure is a cute dark ride.
Riding the Red Car Trolley
This quick trip from Carthay Circle to near Tower of Terror is new and relaxing.
Hanging out with Walt inside California Adventure in Anaheim, California, during our 2022 visit.
